Childhood Immunisations
We’re here for you
Protecting your child’s health through timely vaccination
Immunisation is one of the most effective ways to protect children from serious diseases. At Springs Medical, our doctors and nurses work together to provide safe, evidence-based childhood immunisations in line with the National Immunisation Program Schedule.
Check Your Immunisation History
Not sure which vaccines you or your child have received?
You can access your immunisation history through:
- MyGov via your Medicare account (Immunisation History Statement)
- Australian Immunisation Register (AIR)
Having an up-to-date immunisation record helps ensure the correct vaccines are given at the right time. Our nursing team can also assist with catch up schedules – please contact us to discuss this service.
Book an Appointment
Childhood immunisations are provided by our GPs and nurses working together.
Please call the clinic to book an appointment. Our team will help schedule the appropriate time for your child’s vaccination.
Prepare for Your Visit
Being prepared helps reduce stress on the day. Here’s how you can get ready:
- Read vaccine information: Learn about the diseases the vaccines protect against and write down any questions.
- Understand benefits and risks of the scheduled vaccines.
- Bring your child’s immunisation record or history statement.
- Don’t cancel for mild illness: Minor colds or low-grade fevers are usually not reasons to delay vaccination. Learn more about vaccines when your child is sick.
During Your Appointment
Your vaccination provider will review your child’s health and medical history to ensure it’s safe to proceed with the scheduled vaccines. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
After Your Appointment
Mild side effects are common and usually go away on their own. These may include:
- Redness or swelling at the injection site
- Mild fever
- Fussiness or tiredness
- If you have concerns after the vaccine, contact your GP or nurse for advice.
Stay on Track with Reminders
Use a smartphone app or set calendar reminders to keep up with your child’s immunisation schedule. Staying on time ensures maximum protection.
