Appointments

How do I book an appointment?

Book online or call:

How long are appointments?
  • Standard: 10–15 minutes 
  • Rapid: ~5 minutes (single issue only) 
  • Special Clinics: 30–60+ minutes 
    Arrive 15 mins early, especially if new or attending a clinic. 
What is a Standard Appointment?

Booked for one issue, 10–15 mins. Please book in advance with your usual doctor.

Can I book a longer appointment?
Yes, for complex or multiple issues. Please call reception — longer appointments can’t be booked online.
I lost my referral. What now?
Book a consult (Rapid Clinic is ideal for this) to request a new referral.
How do I cancel an appointment?
Call us with at least 2 hours’ notice to avoid a non-attendance fee.
How do I book online?
Will I always see my regular GP?
Yes, if booked. If unavailable, you may choose to see another doctor for urgent matters.
What’s My Health Record and how do I update it?
Speak to your doctor during your consult. More info: myhealthrecord.gov.au
How do I get a repeat script?

Please book an appointment. Our Rapid Bulk bill phone appointments are perfect for this.

What if my GP is on leave?
You can see another GP or wait until your regular doctor returns. Your records are always accessible.

Blood Tests / X-Ray / Ultrasound

Do I need an appointment for a blood test?
Usually no, unless it’s a glucose test or 24hr BP monitoring. Visit or call Clinical Labs: 03 5348 2694.
Do I need an appointment for x-ray or ultrasound?
Yes. Book with Lake Imaging (offsite).

COMMUNICATION

What happens if I email the clinic?
Please avoid sending clinical requests via email. Contact us by phone for time-sensitive or confidential matters.

EMERGENCY

What if I need urgent care?
Call 000 for emergencies.
For non-life-threatening concerns, call early. You may be triaged by a nurse and booked with the next available GP.
Can I request a home visit?
Yes, for patients who are too unwell to travel. GPs also visit local hospitals and aged care facilities.

FEEDBACK

How do I give feedback or make a complaint?

Speak to our staff or submit your comments via our feedback form. All feedback is treated confidentially.

FEES

What are your GP fees?

GP Fees will depend on the type of appointment. From 1st November 2025, Springs Medical will bulk bill all attendance items for patients who have a valid medicare card. See our GP fee page.

Are video calls free?

Yes, for valid medicare cardholders, standard video consults are free. See our GP fee page.

HOURS

What if the clinic is closed?
Call 000 in an emergency.
After hours, call the GP Helpline: 1800 022 222.
Springs Medical is closed Sundays, public holidays, and on Code Red bushfire days.

INTERPRETER

Can I request an interpreter?
Yes. Let reception know when booking — we use TIS National services.

NEW PATIENTS

Do I need to complete a form?

Yes. Download it from our Patient Forms page or arrive 15 minutes early to complete at reception.

POLICIES

Why do staff ask to confirm my identity?
We use 3 identifiers to ensure safe, accurate care — typically your name, date of birth, and address.

Can I get results over the phone?
Only if approved by your GP. Otherwise, book a results review appointment.

Do I need to see a GP before travelling?

Yes. Book a 30–40 minute Travel Health Clinic consult at least 6–8 weeks before departure. Visit our Travel Health Clinic page to learn more.
