MyMedicare

We’re here for you

What is MyMedicare?

MyMedicare is a new voluntary registration system that links you with your regular general practice, preferred GP and care team. It helps support better continuity and coordination of your healthcare.

Benefits of Registering

  • Helps your GP provide more personalised, long-term care
  • Your preferred GP and practice details will appear in your My Health Record (unless you choose otherwise)
  • Access to longer bulk billed telehealth consultations (for eligible patients)
  • Greater continuity of care, especially for those with chronic or complex health needs
  • Aged care residents benefit from improved GP care planning and regular visits

Who Can Register?

You can register if you:

  • Have a Medicare or DVA card
  • Have had 2 or more face-to-face visits with our practice in the past 24 months
  • Are an existing patient of Springs Medical

How to Register

There are three simple options:

  1. Online via your Medicare Online Account or Express Plus Medicare app
  2. In person – complete a form at reception (Download PDF here)
  3. Start registration online and have our staff complete it with your consent (Register online here)

Is There a Cost?

No. MyMedicare registration is free.

What’s the Difference Between MyMedicare and My Health Record?

  • MyMedicare links you to your regular GP and practice
  • My Health Record stores your clinical health information (e.g., test results, prescriptions)

MyMedicare doesn’t store medical records—it simply supports ongoing care with your usual team.
