Booking Appointments

We offer a range of appointment types to suit your needs.

Making the right appointment for your needs will help your doctor stay on time.

Standard Appointments

Please book well in advance to see your usual doctor.

The standard appointment time (for a single health issue) is 10-15 minutes.

You can phone us or book a standard appointment online at www.springsmedical.com.au

Longer Appointments and New Patients

If you are a new patient to the practice, or have a complex matter (or multiple health issues) to discuss with your doctor, please phone us to book a longer appointment.

This will include the following:

  • Mental health conditions (including Mental Health Care Plans and reviews)
  • Chronic health conditions (including GP Management Plans and reviews)
  • Travel health checkups / vaccinations
  • Health assessments
  • Insurance, license and employment medical assessments
  • Medical reports
  • Immunisations
  • Pap tests
  • Surgical procedures
  • Completion of Centrelink or workcover documentation
  • Implanon insertion or removal
  • Any procedure that requires a nurse eg: INR, ear syringe

Please note that longer appointments cannot be booked online.

Urgent Appointments

Please phone as early in the day as possible and advise that it is urgent. You may be assessed by our primary care nurse to determine the urgency.
You will be booked with the first available doctor.

If you have an urgent, non life threatening health concern after hours, call the After Hours GP Helpline 1800 022 222

Unable to Attend Your Appointment?

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us at least 2 hours notice, so that we can offer the appointment time to another patient.

Please note that failure to attend your appointment, or provide sufficient notice of cancellation, may result in a non-attendance charge.

Off-Site Visits

If you are unwell and moving from your home is physically impossible or detrimental to your health, home visits can be made by prior arrangement. Our doctors are also registered as Visiting Medical Officers at Daylesford Hospital, Daylesford / Trentham Aged Care Facilities and Hepburn House.

Repeat Prescriptions

If you require a repeat on your medication, we strongly advise that you arrange an appointment with your Doctor in advance.

To ensure patient safety, repeat scripts will only be written without a consultation in exceptional circumstances and a charge will apply. Please refer to our Prescription Policy under What you need to know, Our Policies.

Rapid Clinic appointments are suitable for script only consultations and these script-only appointments are commonly bulk billed

Test Results

Results are best discussed face to face with your doctor at a planned results review appointment. Test results will not be discussed over the phone unless specifically authorised by your doctor.

MEDICAL CERTIFICATES, REFERRALS AND REQUESTS FOR OTHER SERVICES OR ENQUIRIES

Please make an appointment with your Doctor for all such requests.

Interpreting Services

These are available through the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National).
Please advise our reception staff if a translator is required.

Helping Your Doctor Run On Time

Nobody likes to be kept waiting. Our doctors try their best to run on time, but there are a few things that you can do to help…

  • Remember that in a standard consultation you have 10-15 minutes to discuss your health concern with your doctor. If you think you will need more time please let our receptionists know so that they can book you a longer appointment time.
  • Tell your doctor all the things you want to discuss at the start of your appointment – that way your doctor will be able to address your most important health concerns first and ask you to return for any non-urgent needs that may require more time.
