Patient Fee Information For GP Consultations

Springs Medical is a mixed-billing practice. In response to increased operational costs and low Federal Government Medicare Rebate support, we have made the difficult decision to increase some of our fees from September 19th, 2022. This increase will ensure that we can continue to provide high-quality primary health care services to our community.

Our fees are structured to reflect the time you spend with the doctor as well as the number and complexity of matters discussed during your consultation.


Private Patients - non concession card holders.


Concession Patients - includes Pensioner Card, DVA (Department of Veteran Affairs), Health Care Card and Commonwealth Seniors Card holders.


Our fees are listed below, together with the rebate you will receive from Medicare and your out of pocket cost (gap payment):

All patients are expected to settle their account on the day. Accounts not settled on the day will incur an admin charge of $10 - $12.

Patients Exempt From Gap Payment (Routinely Bulk Billed)

Many of our doctors offer bulk billed appointments for Concession Card Holders and children aged 15 and under. Please visit “Our Doctors” page (link) to see if you Doctor routinely bulk bills concession card holders and children aged 15 and under.
Other Consultations routinely bulk billed:

  • Eligible Veterans Affairs (DVA) card holders
  • Children under 15 years of age and under for routine childhood vaccination-only visits
  • Rapid Bulk Bill Clinic Appointments are suitable for single-issue, simple consultations expected to last about 10 minutes. Examples of Rapid Bulk Billing Clinic consultations may include: repeat scripts, medical certificate and repeat referral to a medical specialist. Appointments in our Rapid Bulk Bill Clinic will be conducted via telehealth.

Payment Options

All patients are expected to settle their account on the day.

Payments can be made by cash, cheque, major credit cards (Visa/Mastercard only), EFTPOS and online via Automed. Medicare claims are sent for processing online.

 

TYRO MEDICARE EASYCLAIM is available when paying your account in full, this allows an instant refund of the Medicare/government rebate from Medicare to your Cheque or Savings account using our integrated EFTPOS machine.

We are aware that financial difficulties may arise from out-of-pocket medical costs and we are committed to providing equitable and timely medical and health care services to meet your needs. Patients with financial difficulties are encouraged to speak with their GP during their consultation or our Reception Coordinator prior to an appointment either in person or via telephone.
