Deakin University Medical Students

Springs Medical is an accredited training practice with a strong track record of both undergraduate and post graduate education for our next generation of General Practitioners.

We have a close association with the Rural Community Clinical School at Deakin University and are involved in the education of two medical students (in their third year of a postgraduate Medicine course) each calendar year.

Our students are able to parallel consult with our senior GPs on a regular basis at our practices in Daylesford and Trentham. As our doctors are registered as Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) with Daylesford Hospital and Daylesford / Trentham Aged Care Facilities, our students have the opportunity to experience the additional responsibilities of a rural GP.

What we offer...

  • We are a large, fully integrated primary healthcare organisation currently with 15 GPs, 8 GP Registrars, an excellent primary care nursing team, allied health practitioners and visiting specialists plus onsite pathology services.
  • Three practice locations – Daylesford, Kyneton and Trentham in Central Victoria. Both are in new, purpose built facilities.
  • Our senior GPs are experienced supervisors providing ongoing mentoring and support.
  • Friendly and professional practice staff, a welcoming local community – all in a beautiful rural setting in Central Victoria (only 1 ¼ hours from Melbourne).

Our current medical students are Robin Jessup & Nik Alexopoulos.
