ALLIED HEALTH

APPOINTMENTS

Please book online or phone Daylesford 03 5348 2227, Kyneton 03 5422 1298 or Trentham 03 5424 1602.

Different doctors offer different appointments types.
A standard consultation commonly takes 5 to 20 minutes.
We also offer Rapid appointments (< than 5 minutes) and prolonged appointments.
Specialty Clinics such as Diabetes, Allergy, Women’s Wellness Clinic, Better Breathing, Travel, Heart and other Wellness Checks with nurse, may all take 30 to 60 minutes and sometimes longer especially if there is a prolonged procedure or need to be observed after immunisation. Please check our booking appointment page.
And of course Allied Health appointments are often of 30 to 60 minutes duration.

Please always arrive 15 minutes early for check-in, especially if you are a new patient or attending a speciality clinic as there may be questionnaires to complete especially prior to an allergy or travel clinic appointment.
Regrettably as a busy primary care service and with patients not always knowing how long they may need, there will sometimes be delays.
We apologise for this but it is also part of providing a good service.
For a Rapid or Standard appointments please always allow that it may be 1 hour and occasionally more before you need to leave.
For Speciality Clinics and prolonged appointments, please always allow that it may be 2 hours and occasionally more before you need to leave.

Please book well in advance to see your usual doctor. The standard appointment time (for a single health issue) is 10-15 minutes. Springs Medical are delighted to report an average wait time from arrival to Dr attendance is 11 minutes across all SM doctors. You can phone us or book a standard appointment online.

The Rapid Bulk-Billing Clinic will enable you to book a bulk billed appointment for single-issue, simple consultations expected to last about 5 minutes (subject to availability). These appointments are available to all existing patients including private, pensioner and health care card holders. Click here for more detail.

Yes, you can book a longer appointment. If you have a complex matter (or multiple health issues) to discuss with your doctor, please phone us to book a longer appointment (at GP discretion) (Daylesford 03 5348 2227 or Trentham 03 5424 1602) This will include the following: • Mental health conditions (including Mental Health Care Plans and reviews) • Chronic health conditions (including GP Management Plans and reviews) • Travel health check-ups / vaccinations • Health assessments • Insurance, license and employment medical assessments • Medical reports • PAP tests • Completion of Centrelink or Workcover documentation • Implanon insertion or removal • Immunisations • Surgical procedures • Procedures where a nurse &/or special equipment is required eg: Warfarin testing, ear syringe. Please note that longer appointments cannot be booked online.

Book an appointment with your GP to request another referral. Our Rapid Bulk Billing appointments would be ideal for this situation.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please give us at least 2 hours’ notice, so that we can offer the appointment time to another patient. Please note that failure to attend your appointment, or provide sufficient notice of cancellation, may result in a non-attendance charge.

If you have an appointment scheduled with your own doctor, that is who you will see. If you need to schedule an appointment urgently and your doctor is not available, we may ask if you would like to be seen by another doctor. This often makes it possible for you to be seen sooner.

All prescriptions, including repeat prescriptions, are best provided face to face at consultation to ensure patient safety. It is desired that all patients make an appointment for all medication prescriptions. If you would like more information, copies of our Prescription Policy are available at reception or you can download a copy here: (attach the Prescription Policy).

Everyone deserves a holiday during the year – even your GP! We are very fortunate to have a number of GPs available everyday and our clinical software ensures that your patient record (including previous medications and file notes) can be accessed by the GP. If your regular GP is unavailable, you can choose to see another Springs Medical GP, or book the next available appointment with your regular GP. It’s your choice.
